      From the family, Hyacinthaceae, having common name(s) associated with the genus; Pregnant Onion, Snake Flower.
    (Chincherinchee) Flowers white in a dense 12- to 30-flowered raceme, long-lasting, 3 weeks in a vase, however quite poisonous. Summer-flowering. Best treated as a Gladiolus and overwintered in a warm place. Ht. 8-20 inches.
