Hyacinthaceae, having common name(s) associated with the genus; Pregnant Onion, Snake Flower.
(Giant Chincherinchee) Flowers white, 3/4-1 1/4 inches across, with black ovary. Many-flowered raceme, with long pedicels, that become shorter towards the top. Leaves many from the base, fairly erect, broad (up to 1/2 inch) and to 2 feet long. Best in a sunny spot, planted in spring; closely related to O. arabicum. Tender. Ht. 20-40 inches.
