Liliaceae, having common name(s) associated with the genus; Lily.
Easter Lily. Flowers up to 6, in an umbel, scented. They have a long basal tube, hence the name. Pedicels horizontal, to 4 3/4 inches. Segments to 7 inches long, white, the tips slightly recurved. Leaves lanceolate, to 1/4 x 1/2 inch, scattered. Stem-rooting. Very popular as a pot plant at Eastertime in North America. Ht. to 40 inches. Flowering August-September when not forced, but rarely happy outdoors in colder climates. Ht. 40 inches.
