      From the family, Iridaceae, having common name(s) associated with the genus; Corn Flag, Corn Lily, Sword Lily.
    Four to five pendant flowers in a loose spike. Flower tube strongly curved. Upper sepal much overlapping forming a hood over other petals. Flowers bright red with distinct white edge. Leaves strongly ribbed, 12 inches long, 3/4 inch wide. Tender. Ht. 16-20 inches.
