Lilium (DIV IX) lancifolium 'Splendens' (syn. L. tigrinum Splendens)

Todays most widespread (triploid) clone of the Tiger Lily was raised from a single bulb. It was selected for its larger flowers and the bold spotting. Also the flowers are stronger, more fiery reddish-orange. Leaves scattered, linear-lanceolate, dark shining green. Stem up to 2 meters, purplish-black, carrying numerous bulbils in axils of leaves. Very tolerant of virus.
