Commonly named Roast Beef Plant for the smell of the bruised leaves. Flowers an intriguing canary-yellow, veined mauve, 2-3 inches diameter, flowering between the leaves. Foliage evergreen, sword-shaped, in basal fan, 24-32 inches long, 1 1/8 inches wide. The greatest attraction are the orange-red seeds, which remain attached to the capsules for months after they have split wide open highly decorative. A good garden plant for almost any situation, including dry shade. Ht. 24-32 inches.
