Anomatheca laxa (A. cruenta)

From the family, Iridaceae, having common name(s) associated with the genus; False Freesia.

(syn. Lapeirousia cruenta (Lindl.) Bak., Freesia laxa) The wiry flowering stems carry several carmine-crimson flowers, 3/4-1 1/4 inches across, with a tube about 1 1/2 inches long, outer segments with a blackish blotch at the base. Leaves erect, in fan-shaped clusters, about 3/8 inches wide. Ht. 6-10 inches.
