Henrik Zetterlund has tried to reveal the history of the famous red corydalis (M. Lidén, H. Zetterlund: Corydalis, p. 44). C. transsylvanica is traced back to being offered to V. T. by Dr A. Amlacher of Orastie-Broos, Romania, in 1930 and 1934. From this stock possibly the best brick-red flowered selection was named 'George Baker' in the 1970's. Flowers brick-red, sometimes red-pink.
