Tulipa (Div XV) grengiolensis

From the family, Liliaceae, having common name(s) associated with the genus; Tulip Species.

Coll. by M. Ruffier-Lanche under No. 622123 in S. Switserland, Canton Wallis in the upper valley of the Rhone River, in 1962. This is a rare Swiss endemic with a very limited geographical distribution. Flowers primrose-yellow, flushed, striped and spotted carmine-red. Flowers late in May. Ht. 8 inches.
