Coll. W.7727 in NW Afghanistan: S.W. of Herat, at the locus classicus. Found growing in damp alpine meadows at 1600-1700 m alt. Delightfully fragrant Juno species with up to 9 large clear lilac flowers in the leaf axils. They open in succession from top downwards. Crest yellow, surrounded by a broad white zone. Standards small, arching over the falls, giving the flower a 'flat' appearance. Late flowering, in June. Ht. 16-24 inches. ---This item is now only offered as a fall 2009 Pre-Order or Wish Order ---
