From the family, Liliaceae, having common name(s) associated with the genus; Dog's-tooth Violet, Lamb's Tongue, Trout Lily.

Dutch grown garden hybrid, probably with E. citrinum S. Wats. Flowers pale lavender-lilac with a purple center and purplish anthers. Prefers partial shade in woodland conditions. Ht. 8-12 inches.
