From the family, Iridaceae, having common name(s) associated with the genus; Snow Crocus.

(syn. C. susianus) Coll. JR.8306 in Ukraine: Crimea, Krestowaja Gora, 300 m alt., 1983. A wonderful wild population with large, rich indian-yellow to orange flowers, exterior only modestly striped and feathered purple A charming alternative to the commercial clone, which is rather dark on the outside. Produces an abundance of flowers and seeds. AGM. Ht. 2.5-3.25 inches.
