Alliaceae, having common name(s) associated with the genus; Flowering Garlic, Onion.
Umbel dense, 2.5-3 inches across, with unequal pedicels. Flowers flax-blue with a greyish mid-vein, sharing this color with A. caeruleum and A. lipschitzii. Differing from A. caeruleum by a less spherical umbel, and having round, hollow leaves, not 3-cornered. It flowers a fortnight later, for a very long time and each year drawing much attention. Ht. 20-28 inches.
