This is a very tall Allium altissimum. The stock was possibly received by Gothenburg B.G. from Alma Ata Botanic Garden in 1965. Vigorous and large plant, especially on rich, deep soils; in need of considerable space in the garden. Umbels dense, 4-5 inches in diameter. Flowers lilac-purple, with purple filaments and style. Leaves expanding up to 5.5 inches wide. Ht. 60-84 inches.
