An intense purple strain, selected from A. aflatunense hort. non B. Fedtsch. by J. Bijl in 1963. There are slight differences within this strain as to color, height and flowering time, as most bulbs of this are being produced from seed. However a pure dark clone is available, presumed to be homozygous, coming deep purple from seed. All strains are excellent for cutting. AGM (AGM). Ht. 30-36 inches.
