Hyacinthaceae, having common name(s) associated with the genus; Squill.
(syn. Barnardia scilloides Lindl.) From gardens. Flowers 40-80, carried in a dense, oblong raceme. Flowers stellate, mauve-pink. Segments about 1/8 inch, narrow oblong. Leaves linear, channelled, to 10 inches long. Bulb ovate with blackish tunic. Autumn-flowering. Ht. 4-6 inches.
