Hyacinthaceae, having common name(s) associated with the genus; Squill.
(syn. S. tubergeniana J. Hoog) Coll. by Herr Georg Egger in NW Iran, the Kara Dagh Range, in the early 1930s, growing among vast quantities of Puschkinia scilloides Adams. A particularly good clone of S. mischtschenkoana Grossh., which generally is not a good garden plant, dying out in cultivation. Excellent for naturalizing under light trees and shrubs in partial shade. Flowers 3 to 4 in a loose raceme, campanulate. Pale porcelain-blue with darker blue stripes down each segment. Each bulb produces 2 to 4 scapes, prolonging the flowering season. AGM.
