Coll. RS.156/83 in Ukraine: Crimea, Upper Baidar valley, growing in Quercus pubescens Willd. forest, alt. 800 m, 1983. A large and vigorous variety of this popular winter flowering bulb. Surprisingly large racemes with up to 20 starry, deep blue flowers. Foliage tinted brown-purple at first. Very useful for naturalizing, seeding itself prolifically. Ht. 6-10 inches.
