(Section Apodanthae) From gardens. Flowers yellow, 1.25 inches diameter. It is easily distinguished from other species in this section by its solitary flowers, flat or cone-shaped corona, lack of pedicel and anthers held well in the tube. Leaves glaucous, erect, 1/16 inch wide, 7 inches long. It needs an acid soil. Ht. 2-6 inches.
