      From the family, Iridaceae, having common name(s) associated with the genus; Flag, Sword Lily.
    From gardens. Prefers sunny position and well drained sandy or chalky soil (more so than the high altitude I. m. 'Agalik' 980-240). Flowers in upper leaf axils, pale lavender to nearly white with orange crests. Ht. 16-24 inches.
