Iris histrioides 'George'

From the family, Iridaceae, having common name(s) associated with the genus; Flag, Sword Lily.

Raised by W.P. van Eeden from a cross of I. histrioidesvar. major and I. reticulata 'J. S. Dijt'. Flowers very large, up to 3 inches in diameter, fragrant. Standards plum-purple. Falls darker purple with narrow bright-yellow honey marks, blotched white. Several deep blue mutants have been selected. These are being named and will to be on offer soon. Ht. 4-5 inches.
