Iris histrio var. aintabensis

From the family, Iridaceae, having common name(s) associated with the genus; Flag, Sword Lily.

Coll. by the American Mission in South Turkey, in former Aintab, now Gaziantep, around 1930. Flowers slate blue, falls speckled blue and white, crest golden-yellow. Unlike I. histrio this variety is hardy and vigorous. Ht. 2.25-3.5 inches.
