Historic cultivar. Rescued from oblivion by the Hortus Bulborum at Limmen. Flowers brown-red. Stems remarkably fasciate. The Dutch 'zwaard' translates to 'sword'. The resemblance may have been more obvious at a time the sword was part of daily life. Ht. 32-40 inches.
