Crocus (Spring) alatavicus

From the family, Iridaceae, having common name(s) associated with the genus; Snow Crocus.

Coll. by J. R. in Central Asia: Rep. Uzbekistan, Tschimgan Range, c 2000 m alt., in May 1977. A very early flowering species. Interior snow-white, shaded and speckled greyish-purple on the outside, throat yellow. Dry summer-dormancy. Ht. 3-4 inches.
