From the family, Alliaceae, having common name(s) associated with the genus; Flowering Garlic, Onion.

Coll. S&L.5369 in Bhutan: Upper Mo Chu distr., alt.3670 m. Attractive loose umbel with 10 to 20 rich plum-purple, bell-shaped flowers, each 1/8-3/16 inch. The hang gracefully from 1.25-2 inches pedicels. Leaves narrow, channelled, to 18 inches. Ht. 12-16 inches.
