Collected in Northern Greece, Prov. Ioannina, where it was found growing in meadow in full sun. Bulbs growing shallowly in terra rossa, at 650 m alt., 25.05.1987. A highly ornamental summer-flowering Allium with a compact umbel 1.5-2.5 inches across. Flowers creamy-white borne on unequal stalks. Leaves thread-like on the lower half of the stem. Ht. 20-28 inches.
